Examining the factors influencing wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice. MSC

Abstract:
This research project aims to examine the factors influencing wrongful convictions and miscarriages of justice within the criminal justice system. Wrongful convictions occur when individuals are found guilty of crimes they did not commit, leading to serious consequences for both the innocent individuals and the integrity of the justice system. By analyzing various case studies, legal precedents, and scholarly literature, this study seeks to identify the key factors that contribute to wrongful convictions, such as eyewitness misidentification, false confessions, inadequate defense, prosecutorial misconduct, and forensic errors. The findings of this research will provide valuable insights into the flaws within the criminal justice system and propose recommendations for improving the accuracy and fairness of criminal trials.
