Project Summary:

The use of biofertilizers in agriculture has gained significant attention in recent years due to their potential to improve soil fertility and crop productivity in a sustainable manner. This final year project aimed to investigate the effect of biofertilizers on the growth and nutrient content of maize plants.

The study was conducted through a series of experiments where maize plants were treated with different types of biofertilizers, including nitrogen-fixing bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi. The growth parameters such as plant height, leaf number, and biomass production were measured, along with the nutrient content in the maize plants.

The findings of the study demonstrated that the application of biofertilizers led to a significant improvement in maize growth, with treated plants showing higher plant height, leaf number, and biomass production compared to untreated plants. In addition, the nutrient content analysis revealed that biofertilizer-treated plants had higher concentrations of essential nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium.

Overall, the results of this study suggest that the use of biofertilizers can enhance the growth and nutrient content of maize plants, thereby offering a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to improving crop productivity.
